This blog is intended to be a tale of mountaineering adventure played out on the crags and mountains of Great Britain and sometimes further afield. Either in the guise of a misguided past time or professionally through work as a mountaineering instructor (MIC).

Brief Winter Window is Closing
Wasn't out on the hill yesterday but understand that there was still plenty of snow laying over the peaks of Northern Snowdonia. I spent the day in South Wales where I had an appointment to keep in the evening. It provided an opportunity to climb with Cled and although the weather didn't allow us to get outside we spent a good few hours pulling on the holds of Boulders Climbing Wall in Cardiff. As expected this brief window of winter weather is closing and the photo taken this morning shows how the snow has all but gone from Cader Idris. The same can also be said for Aran Fawddwy. The wind is howling at the moment and looks set to be even stronger tomorrow. Time to baton down again and wait for the next wintery spell.
